Hi, So sad to hear that Roger has passed away! I went to the same school (Brooke House School) and once was considered a good friend. We lived on the same road (Osbaldeston Road) me, near the top and you guys near the bottom. All my love to all the family. Max - Michael Maxwell (yep!, the fast runner/long jumper and footballer)

JJ Belle, your guitar sound on Being Boring from Pet Shop Boys is so fresh and blends nicely in the mix. Rest in peace.

I was so very shocked to learn of JJ's death which I only discovered very recently. I worked with him in the early 1980's - when he played on some tracks for a band I was involved in called Ozo. Our connection was through a music producer called Keni St. George. I came to the band through Keni's political connection with my father - the former Labour MP Tony Benn, who you may or may not remember. I kept up with JJ for a few years and then inevitable lost touch with him. I still have some demo tapes which he gave to listen to - including one about Japan as I remember. I think I also have a video we made with the band Ozo - which I believe JJ appears in. JJ was such a fine musician and he always struck me as someone with a determination to constantly improve his artistry and musicianship. He was clearly a talented composer and brought with these skills a bubbly and enthusiatic personality - clearly loving and at ease with his musical skills. I am so so sorry that the world has lost his talents - he was such a fine example to everyone. I know several years have now passed since you lost JJ - but I wanted you to know that his memory lives on for many people - like me - whose lives he touched with his craft - albeit very briefly. Hi... I just came across this site, i was thinking about JJ and wondered what had become of him. We worked together in the mid 80s and i always thought he was a great player and a lovely person, JJ was playing guitar as a session player at a studio where i was the engineer in Hayes in England. being a guitarist myself we chatted in the breaks and after the session about guitars ,amps Hendrix etc! I'm so sad to hear of his passing i'll alaways remember his great guitar playing and that great smile.....a lovely guy. Bari Watts

I have only just found out this deeply sad news. I knew of JJ's work on the Pet Shop Boys recordings. 'Behaviour' is a beautiful album and JJ played a large part in that. I was also lucky enough to witness the 'Performance' tour in 91 and, again, JJ's wonderful guitar playing. My belated condolences for the passing of this extremely gifted man. Daniel
